The Australian robins (not related to North American robins) are interesting forest birds with considerable personality. They are often bold and seem inquisitive, perching on a trunk or branch and sitting quitely, seeming to observe you carefully before flitting off. They make lovely little cup nests out of spiderweb and other materials, and most have a simple song of one or two notes. These white-breasted robins were photographed in Porongorup National Park and near Nornalup in southwestern Western Australia. |
