Yellow robins (there are several species) are forest birds with considerable personality. They are bold and inquisitive, perching on a trunk or branch and sitting quietly, seeming to observe you carefully before flitting off. They make lovely little cup nests out of spiderweb and other materials, and have a simple song of one or two notes. Pale yellow-robins, as their name implies, are less intensely colored than eastern or western yellow-robins, but are even bolder than those species. They live in rainforests along the northeastern coast of Australia; these were photographed in Kingfisher Park near Julatten, far north Queensland. |
