Eastern yellow robin        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Yellow robins (several species) are forest birds with considerable personality.   They are often bold and seem inquisitive, perching on a trunk or branch and sitting quitely, seeming to observe you carefully before flitting off.   They make lovely little cup nests out of spiderweb and other materials, and have a simple song of one or two notes.   These eastern yellow robins were photographed in Wollongong, New South Wales; Lamington National Park in southeast Queensland, and the Atherton Tableland in far north Queensland.
Related species include the pale yellow robin, western yellow robin, scarlet robin, white-breasted robin, and grey-headed robin.
