Slaty antshrike        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Slaty antshrikes are one of the large group of 'antbirds' in Central and South America.   They are medium-sized and the males (as here) are dark gray with some white markins on the wings.   They were photographed on the 'Pipeline Road' near Gamboa, Panama.   A relative, the fasciated antshrike and dot-winged antwren are also common in this area.
