Snow geese        Images © Mark A. Chappell

The common snow goose occurs in two main color morphs: 'blue' and white.   They are not genetically distinct populations (although the color is genetically determined), and sometimes one finds 'blue' birds mated with white birds.   Personally, I find the highly variable 'blue' goose to be a more interesting subject than white birds -- at least, most of the time.   Nevertheless, white snow geese are highly photogenic, especially in the morning and afternoon, and when they are coming in to land (as with many of the birds pictured here).

'Blast-offs' (mass takeoffs of a big goose flock) are a favorite photographic subject at Bosque, and are also quite thrilling to simply watch -- especially against a good sunrise.   Other pictures of cranes and geese Bosque are here, here, and here; also, look at the Bosque del Apache page for photos from other visits.
