Roughly ten to twelve thousand sandhill cranes spend the winter at the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in central New Mexico. Many of them feed in corn fields, such as the ones planted by Refuge staff near the 'Farm Deck' observation area, where I took these photos. |
