Many small 'old-world' warblers breed in Eurasia during the Northern Hemisphere spring and summer. Most migrate to the tropics for the winter. Some are distinctive but many are quite difficult to separate in the field, except by call and habitat; for example, this species looks very much like the wood warbler, although it is not as yellowish and lacks the wood warbler's clear white belly. The photos were taken on a drizzly, overcast day near Biebrza National Park, Poland. |
