Rufous-breasted chat-tyrant        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Chat-tyrants are small flycatchers from South America.   These were photographed in cloud forest at the Wayqecha Research Station at 3000 m elevation on the eastern slope of the Peruvian Andes.   A closely-related species, from higher altitudes, is the brown-backed chat-tyrant.
