These male cinnamon teal -- easily identified by the bright chestnut color over most of the body, along with often-hidden sky-blue forewings (visible in some of these images) -- were winter visitors to Newport Back Bay in coastal Orange County, the San Diego Wild Animal Park, the San Jacinto Wildlife Area, and the Palo Alto Baylands, all in central or southern California. Images of flying cinnamon teal are here. |
