Pink-footed shearwaters breed in the Southern Hemisphere, but like many shearwaters they make epic trans-equatorial migrations. They are frequently seen in the Northern Hemisphere autumn off California; these were photographed in Monterey Bay in early October. In some of the images, sooty and Buller's shearwaters, or a Black-footed albatross, can also be seen. |
