Jumping spider (subadult Phidippus?)        Images © Mark A. Chappell

This small jumping spider (possibly a subadult in the Phidippus group) crawled or jumped onto my 500 mm lens when I was photographing granite spiny lizards in the Box Springs Mountains above Riverside, California.   I caught it, took it into the lab to photograph with a special macro lens at about 3X life size, and then released it.
Images of other jumping spiders are here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.
