The Biebrza National Park in the Podlasie region of northeast Poland has some of the largest marshlands remaining in Europe. In late summer, low fog often overhangs the wet ground in the broad, shallow valleys. These photos were taken from a lookout on the west bank of the Biebrza River near the village of Burzyn. My friend Marek Konarzewski took us to this lovely spot early on a September morning. A couple of images from the same spot later in the morning are here. |
