Euros are one of the four or five largest living marsupials. They resemble eastern and western grey kangaroos in size and general shape, but are bulkier and have longer, coarser hair. Euros (also called hill kangaroos or common wallaroos) are usually found near some terrain relief, such as hills, gullys, or rocky outcrops. They have a very extensive range but are dry-country animals and typically are absent from wet forests. These were photographed at the Fowlers Gap research station in far northwestern New South Wales, Australia. |
