Coyotes are often thought of in the context of plains, grasslands, and deserts, but these versatile predators also thrive in cities, mountains, and forests from Mexico into the Arctic. Most of these images were made at the Bosque del Apache refuge in New Mexico, or in Riverside, California. The winter-furred coyote near the bottom of the page was photographed after a recent snow in Anchorage, Alaska, and the other animals in snowy scenery were on Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake, Utah. |
