Reticulated python        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Reticulated pythons are the longest living snakes, with a very few records of really huge ones that approached 10 meters. They are powerful constrictors and can overcome and eat prey as large as small deer and pigs. 'Retics' are native to south-eastern Asia; this juvenile individual (about 3 meters long) was a pet.
