The sagebrush shrublands in the eastern Sierra Nevada are one of my favorite habitats. I particularly like the look of sagebrush and rabbitbrush (two of the dominant plant species) at dawn and dusk, especially with a nice sunrise or sunset to provide some additional color. These pictures were taken near Convict Creek, south of the resort town of Mammoth Lakes. They were taken with the help of a graduated neutral-density filter, which evens out exposures across a bright sky and a dark foreground. |
