Sunrise and sunset are always favorite times of day for landscape photographers, and when coupled with the dramatic scenery of the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, they can generate very appealing images. These photos were made in early Autumn (October) in Long Vally and the Mono Lake basin in eastern California. They show the Glass Mountains (upper right and bottom left), the White Mountains (bottom right), the Sierra Crest above Lee Vining Canyon (above left), and (immediately below) the Sierras in early dawn light, to the north of Long Valley. |
