Field work at the Sierra Nevada Aquatic Research Lab in the summer of 2005 required me to be up at dawn. SNARL sits on Convict Creek on the east slope of the Sierra, and the hills and peaks to the west (above Convict Creek and Convict Lake) are struck by the first daylight. These pictures show early morning light on sage-scrub covered hills and the nearby peaks of Mt. Morrison and Laurel Peak. |
