I've never seen this species 'in the wild', although I have heard their calls.   This individual kept attacking other birds caught in our mist-nets and getting caught itself (we had to move the nets out of its territory).   The bird was being held by one of our field assistants; it was near Pantiacolla Lodge in southeastern Peru.   The photograph below shows a tick in front of its left eye.
