Bronzed cowbird        Images © Mark A. Chappell

The common species of cowbird in most of North America is the brown-headed cowbird; the bronzed cowbird (with its thick neck and red eyes) regularly occurs in the US only in southern Arizona and in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.   This one was attending a water drip on a ranch in Roma, Texas.
