Townsend's warbler        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Townsend's warbler is a colorful breeder in the Pacific Northwest, and a fairly common winter resident in coastal California.   Both sexes are lovely little birds; males are very flashy and females have a quieter charm.   I photographed these in various places on the Monterey Peninsula, California.   More images of this species are here and here.
