The Kentucky warbler is a large, mostly terrestrial species that breeds in eastern North America and is very rare on the west coast. It is also extremely skulking and reluctant to show itself. This fall vagrant stayed briefly in a park in Del Rey Oaks, California; it attracted crowds of birders but few managed to get a good look. I was able to take exactly 4 photos when it briefly perched on a dead log. |
