Gray-cheeked thrush        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Like all in their family, gray-cheeked thrushes are plain-colored shy birds with lovely songs.   They breed in northern boreal forests and winter in the Neotropics.   The bird at upper right is eating salmonberries (all thrushes favor small fruits when they are available).   The pictures were taken on the Kenai Peninsula, Alaska.
