Singing honeyeater        Images © Mark A. Chappell

The singing honeyeater has a very wide range in Australia, being absent only in a narrow strip along the eastern coast. This bird was living up to its name by singing heartily a high noon (hence, terrible light for nice photos) near Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.
