Red wattlebird        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Wattlebirds are large honeyeaters, and the red wattlebird is widely distributed wherever flowering trees occur.   They are named for the small red wattles on the cheeks.   I took the photos in Nornalup, a small town in the southwestern corner of Western Australia.
