Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the flashy black-and-white adult male plumage of this handsome little honeyeater.   I think this is an immature male; it's brown like a female but has the larger white wing patch typical of adult males.  These pictures were taken at a flowering bottlebrush shrub near a house at Fowlers Gap research station in the northwest corner of New South Wales.
