Australasian figbird        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Figbirds are common in much of northern and eastern Australia, and as their name implies, they're fond of fruit.   Males are greena nd yellow with a black head and red around the eye; females are streaky brown.   The female at bottom was eating palm fruits in a caravan park in Daintree, far north Queensland, Australia; the other photos were taken in Darwin in the Northern Territory.
