Miners are social and highly successful (and very noisy) honeyeaters. They have adapted well to civilization and are often found in city parks and neighborhoods, as well as in the countryside. This is the yellow-throated miner, found throughout Australia except in eastern forests. I took the photos at Fowlers Gap, a sheep station and research center north of Broken Hill, in the far northwest portion of New South Wales. |
