Great kiskadee        Images © Mark A. Chappell

The great kiskadee is a spectacular bird:   large, noisy, colorful, active, and conspicuous.   In the US it occurs regularly only in southern Texas but it is common south of the border.  These photos were taken in Rio Grande Valley of Texas and at the nearby Laguna Atascosa Wildlife Refuge.
