Together with the Pacific slope flycatcher, cordilleran flycatchers were split from what used to be called the western flycatcher.   This taxonomic decision is still controversial, and the two species very closely resemble each other in appearance and voice.  As their names imply, Pacific Slope flycatchers are found along the west coast and cordilleran flycatchers live in the Rocky Mountain region; I took the pictures near Gunnison, Colorado..
