Buff-tailed coronet        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Buff-tailed coronets are very aggressive hummingbirds; I photographed these mainly at Rio Blanco Lodge near Manizales, Colombia.   There were several other hummingbirds attending the feeders, including long-tailed sylphs and tourmaline sunangels, but the buff-tailed coronets drove them all away almost as soon as they arrived.
