Western rosella        Images © Mark A. Chappell

Western rosellas are one of a group of similar small parrots that differ dramatically in color (others include the eastern rosella, northern rosella, green rosella, pale-headed rosella, and crimson rosella).   They typically go around in pairs, feeding on fruits, flowers, grass, and seeds.   These were photographed in or near Nornalup National Park in southwestern Western Australia.
