Galahs are among my favorite parrots. Almost comically goofy when perched in a tree or sitting on the ground or walking with their short legs, they have a surprisingly graceful and powerful flight. They exploit those talents with buoyant airborn displays involving swoops and dives and exaggerated wingbeats (it looks fun). I took the photos at Fowlers Gap, a research station in arid northwestern New South Wales. Pictures of perched galahs can be found here.
