The white-tailed sea eagle is the Eurasian ecological equivalent of the bald eagle of North America. It may not be as strking as the white-headed and white-tailed bald eagle, but it is a huge, magnificent bird nonetheless. This one appeared out of nowhere when I was photographing ruffs in Biebrza National Park, Poland. It went by so quickly that I had no time to set up for a flight shot, and consequently the slow shutter speed resulted in some blurring, and the images won't withstand much enlargement. |
