Many species of scops-owls occur in Africa and Asia; they closely resemble the various screech-owls of the western hemisphere. This bird came to a campfire in western Zimbabwe and was considerate enough to sit long enough for me to take several pictures. It seemed remarkably unconcerned with excited conversation, illumination from several flashlights, and my electronic flash and noisy motor drive. |
