Plumbeous pigeons are one of the most frequently encountered of the several species of forest pigeons in found in eastern Peru.  They have a largely unmarked rudy purplish gray plumage that gives them their name.   This one was photographed aat about 1500 m elevation along the Manu Road, which leads from Cusco, Peru down into the Peruvian Amazon region.
