Pale-winged trumpeter        Images © Mark A. Chappell

These pale-winged trumpeters were part of a small flock moving around the (very dark) rainforest floor.  They are large, chickenlike birds that don't move especially fast but seldom sit still for long, so the extremely dim light made it quite difficult to get a good, sharp image.   These are the best I could do before they disappeared into the vegetation.   I took the pictures near Pantiacolla Lodge in the Peruvian Amazon.
