Common bronzewings, as their name implies, are a quite common species in dry forests and woodlands in much of Australia.   Like many Australian pigeons (such as the crested pigeon), they have colorful irridescent feathers visible in the folded wings.   These were photographed in the southwestern corner of Western Australia; the bird below at right is a juvenile.
