Ring-billed gulls are medium-sized gulls that can be found across much of North America.   These winter-plumaged adults (with the streaking on the head and neck) were in Mission Bay in San Diego, at Bolsa Chica in coastal Orange County, in Palo Alto, at the Salton Sea, or near Riverside, all in California or at Honeymoon Island near Tarpon Springs, Florida.
