Although not as colorful as many wood warblers, Lucy's warblers are attractive little birds with gray plumage with pale undersides, white eyerings, and chestnut caps and rumps.   Juveniles are plain gray.   The species breeds in mesquite and streamside vegetation at fairly low elevations in the southwestern deserts of North America.   These were photographed at the base of the Santa Rita Mountains in Arizona.
