Pre-dawn snow goose flight        Images © Mark A. Chappell

The early morning 'blast-off' of snow geese near the Bosque Flight Deck attracts many photographers, but in December 2013 a bald eagle regularly flew into a nearby dead tree about 20-30 minutes before dawn.   The eagle's arrival flushed the geese too early for spectacular sunrise colors, and the birds were roosting unusually far away from the viewing platform.   However, the dim light allowed for long exposures, resulting in interesting (I think) flight blurs, as seen here.
