Straw-necked ibis        Images © Mark A. Chappell

The straw-necked ibis is common in wetlands and grassy fields across Australia. Up close, they show a striking iridescense in the dark dorsal plumage as seen here. This bird was looking for food in a small creek in a golf course in north Queensland, Australia.
