Red-necked crakes are secretive woodland rails from the wet forests of tropical Queensland, Australia.   They are largely nocturnal and hence very hard to see, despite being fairly common in some areas.   These were at Kingfisher Park in Julatten; to get these photos, I fed many mosquitos.
