The twisty, gnarled, and somehow elegant California sycamore is characteristic of streamsides throughout much of the state. In fall, they turn yellow and drop their huge leaves, exposing the gray, mottled trunks. These pictures were taken in Molera State Park at the mouth of the Big Sur River, and in upper Carmel Valley. |
