Other Resources

The lists below contain two types of sources, commercial suppliers who are used to providing large numbers of insects of various stages, and private research colonies. The commercial suppliers have all of the necessary permits to ship live materials. Private research laboratories do not have the budget, facilities nor permits to ship live insects, but are usually willing to supply a small number of insects as a courtesy to fellow researchers. Indeed, sometimes new research contacts come about this way.

If anyone requests insects from a commercial supplier, the fees and costs will be included automatically. Private or University laboratories, on the other hand, are usually supported by sponsors with research as the primary and overriding goal.
