Use FWY 60 (also called I-215 as both 60 and 215 are the same, overlapped, in Riverside), and then exit to University Avenue. Turn left to the campus (east of the freeway). (Follow the signs to the UCR campus.) To enter the campus, turn right to West Campus Drive (where you see a purple Arts building). Once you enter the campus, stop by Information Kiosk for further direction to Sproul Hall. At Information Kiosk, ask the location of Sproul Hall, Parking Lot 5, and get a parking permit (that is pre-arranged for your pick-up under your name). (If you have any UC campus parking permit, show it to Information Kiosk to use it. Otherwise, we will have a parking permit waiting for you there.) Park your car at Lot 5.

 

Our department is located at the third and fourth floors of Sproul Hall. Sproul Hall is a white colored bldg. It has three wings (South wing, Middle wing, and North wing). We are located in South Wing, which is the highest with four stories. The other two wings have only two stories. My office is Room 3103 at South Wing.

 

Please try to arrive around or no later than 3 pm to insure against any possible traffic problems. Please let me know the most convenient time for you to arrive here so that we may know when we expect you. The seminar starts from 4:10 pm and ends at 5:30 pm, unless planned differently.

Directions from UCSD (Coming from the South)

It will take about 100 minutes. Take 15 north. Near the city of Temacula change to 215 north. Near Riverside 215 north merges with 60 west.

A few exits past the 215/60 merge, you will find the University Avenue. Exit there. When you come to the bottom of the ramp, turn left at the signal. You are on the University Avenue.

At the next signal where University Ave meets West Campus Dr., turn right into the campus. At the information kiosk, ask the location of Sproul Hall, Parking Lot 5, and get a parking permit. If you have any UC campus parking permit, show it to the information kiosk to use it.

Directions from Ontario Airport (Coming from the West)

You need to find freeway 60 East from the airport. There are several ways to 60 east which you can check at a rental car office. Drive at 60 East for about 20 minutes to Riverside.

A few exits past the 91/215 inter-change, you will find the University Avenue. Exit there. When you come to the bottom of the ramp, turn left at the signal. You are on the University Avenue. Pass under the bridge.

At second signal where University Ave meets West Campus Dr., turn right into the campus. At the information kiosk, ask the location of Sproul Hall, Parking Lot 5, and get a parking permit. If you have any UC campus parking permit, show it to the information kiosk to use it.

Directions from USC and UCLA (Coming from the West)

Coming from LA, you can take either highway 10 or 60.

If you take 10 east to Ontario, then take 15 south for 2 miles and pick up 60 east.
If you take 60 east to Riverside, then it may be easier.

A few exits past the 91/215 inter-change, you will find the University Avenue. Exit there. When you come to the bottom of the ramp, turn left at the signal. You are on the University Avenue. Pass under the bridge.

At second signal where University Ave meets West Campus Dr., turn right into the campus. At the information kiosk, ask the location of Sproul Hall, Parking Lot 5, and get a parking permit. If you have any UC campus parking permit, show it to the information kiosk to use it.

Directions from CalTech or from Pasadena (Coming from the West)

Take freeway 210 and then 10 East to Ontario. (Be cautious with the steep-downhill speed when you change from 210 to 10.) Then take FWY 15 South for 2 miles and pick up FWY 60 East.  Continue for about 15 minutes to Riverside.

A few exits past the 91/215 inter-change, you will find the University Avenue. Exit there. When you come to the bottom of the ramp, turn left at the signal. You are on the University Avenue. Pass under the bridge.

At second signal where University Ave meets West Campus Dr., turn right into the campus. At the information kiosk, ask the location of Sproul Hall, Parking Lot 5, and get a parking permit. If you have any UC campus parking permit, show it to the information kiosk to use it.

Directions from LAX (LA Airport) (Coming from the West)

It is about 70 miles and takes about 80 minutes with no traffic. However it could take 2-3 hours depending on traffic situation especially after 2-3 pm. It is generally worse in Fridays and in the afternoon.

Find 105 East from the LA airport. Drive 105 East for about 20 minutes (about 17 miles ?), then take 605 South for a couple of miles, and then change to 91 East. Stay on 91 East for about an hour (about 45 miles ?) to Riverside. Then take 60 East (which is also 215).

A few exits past the 91/215 inter-change, you will find the University Avenue. Exit there. When you come to the bottom of the ramp, turn left at the signal. You are on the University Avenue. Pass under the bridge.

At second signal where University Ave meets West Campus Dr., turn right into the campus. At the information kiosk, ask the location of Sproul Hall, Parking Lot 5, and get a parking permit. If you have any UC campus parking permit, show it to the information kiosk to use it.

Directions from UCI or from Orange County (Coming from the Southwest)

It is about 60 minutes with no traffic. However it could take more depending on traffic situation especially after 2-3 pm. It is generally worse in Fridays and in the afternoon.

Take 55 and then 91 to Riverside. Then take 60 East (which is also 215).

A few exits past the 91/215 inter-change, you will find the University Avenue. Exit there. When you come to the bottom of the ramp, turn left at the signal. You are on the University Avenue. Pass under the bridge.
