Locality:

Sand on slope of dune facing the beach, collected in June 1997 by Paul De Ley near the grounds of "Strand Motel", Koksijde, Belgium.

Classification:

Culture conditions:

- Xenic: with E. coli on 1% agar + 5 µg/ml cholesterol. Co-occurring bacteria and a fungus have not been removed. Kept at 17C.

Long-term storage:

Freezing was not attempted.

Notes:

Amphimictic, reproducing slowly. Living and fixed females differ from published descriptions of R. (Crustorhabditis stasileonovi in the presence of a large hyaline cavity in the hemispherical tail.
