carried out from July 28th to August 27th, and the results were compiled. Concentration of chemicals
Selection
of corresponding dosages of the four chemicals was made in the following
manner: From a
number of concentrations and approximate dosage rates for each of the four
chemicals which were used as control measures in the past and that were known
to have given satisfactory control of earwigs, one was regarded as the normal
concentration for each chemical, which appears below as the medium
concentration, giving the amount of active ingredient per 100 gallons. The other two dosages were chosen by
taking half and twice this figure (the light and heavy dosages), thereby
forming three concentrations which were the only ones used in all experiments
on earwigs. The three dosages for the
