Falcate Orangetip (LEP21) Anthocharis midea It
receives its name from the hooked wing tip, which is surrounded by orange in
the male. Otherwise white above with
a black spot in the forewing cell.
The female is shown with her underside in view. She is delicately but beautifully marbled
with yellowish green scales. It is
found in spring in the East around cresses, mustards and nectar flowers. |
