Principal Investigator

Isgouhi obtained her B.S. and M.S. degrees from American University of Beirut in Lebanon. She obtained her Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from University of California Riverside, where she identified and mapped a root-knot nematode resistance gene in a wild relative of wheat. She completed two postdoctoral research appointments, the last one at UC Davis, where she was involved in cloning the first nematode resistance gene Mi-1. At UC Davis, she discovered that the Mi locus in tomato also conferred resistance to potato aphids.
